Applications Being Accepted For Leadership and Youth Leadership Dutchess

Leadership Dutchess and Youth Leadership, the signature programs run by The Chamber Foundation, Inc. are accepting applications for their 2015-16 classes.  Forms are available online at ChamberFDN.org.  All applications must be received by June 5.

Leadership Dutchess is proud to be celebrating its 27th year of educating and motivating aspiring citizens to serve in leadership roles within our community.  This prestigious leadership program is designed to foster the development of a group of professionals who grow and learn together over a nine-month period.  Leadership Dutchess sessions are held once per month September – June and all course work contributes to the knowledge and understanding of leadership.  Prominent individuals from the public and private sector, sharing their knowledge on real-world topics of leadership/ municipal concerns impacting the Hudson Valley Region, conduct each daylong session.

Youth Leadership is an innovative, two year leadership development program designed to develop the academic, social and life skills of area high school sophomores and juniors and focuses on giving these students out-of-the classroom leadership experiences. Students will have opportunities for substantive interaction with his or her peers, community based service organizations, institutions of higher education and professionals from local industry.  Sophomores will participate in Junior Achievement, working on the formation of their own classroom-based company including stock sales, product selection, and sales and marketing techniques while juniors will participate in college/real world preparation sessions about résumé writing, interview skills, college applications, paying for college and finance education.  Students will emerge from this dynamic program more confident and well rounded with improved leadership skills, a better understanding of themselves and their community, and developed skills and attitudes needed for success in college and life.
